We’re stoked to present the first installment in a series of womens cycling workshops we’ve dubbed ‘Birds of a Feather’. For our first event we want to address something near and dear to a female cyclists heart…or slightly south of there–The Saddle. Too hard, too soft, too wide, or just plain wrong, its tough to find your ideal match. Come to the shop and check out a variety of popular women’s saddles and find your perfect perch! We’ll have a bunch of saddles to sit on and test on trainers. We’ll also show you how to measure your sit bones so you know where to start. Feel free to bring your bike, but it’s not required. Our friends Lillian Pope from Hall Bicycle Company, and Andrea Cohen from World of Bikes will be sharing their expertise. This all-women event will be hosted by Michelle Barker of IMBA Midwest. No dudes allowed. Light refreshments will be provided by Lion Bridge Brewing Company. The entire series is free to attend, but we are requesting that attendees help build community for other women by bringing a hygene item or cash to be donated to the local Waypoint ServicesMadge Phillips Center Shelter. PLEASE RSVP so we can get a head count. See you there!
This last Saturday we spent the day ripping around the Indian Creek Nature Center on fat bikes for the first (annual?!) Go Cr Fat Sac & Fox Enduro! All our friends from the neighborhood and over a hundred fat bikes hit the starting line for a 3 hour endurance race that traversed about 4 miles of snow covered single track, mowed prairie, and frozen gravel trail.
All the event sponsors and local shops were setup on the sidelines offering fat bike demos and emergency repair. There was a real sense of community and camaraderie in the air. I suppose riding bikes in the snow with all your friends will to do that 🙂
READY. SET. GO! Over 120 women, men, and 3-person teams taking on the 3 hour grind. Read more
