Goldfinch Cyclery & Swift Industries Campout!

Calling all campers! Pack up your bicycle and skip town with us June 24th/25th.

Here’s the scoop. We’re planning to roll out from the bike shop (208 C 12th Ave. SE) by 2pm Saturday, June 24th, and riding 30 leisurely ‘no drop’ miles to our reserved campsites at Wildcat Bluff Recreation Area for the night. This is a 100% self-supported camping trip, individuals are totally responsible for packing their bike with all the food, water, camping gear, and positive vibes necessary! There are a few potential pit-stops along our route and there are restrooms and running water at our campsites. The following morning we’ll enjoy some breakfast essentials and make our way back to Cedar Rapids along the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Give us a call, email, or stop by the shop with any questions and be sure to ‘join’ the event on Blackriver so we know you’re coming!

Heads up! The shop will be CLOSED tomorrow, Saturday, June 3rd…

…for the Beverly Fat Tire Frenzy! We’ll have our tent set up on-site with all the race essentials and positive vibes to get you to the starting line. If you’re racing, be sure to stop by the LAMBA tent and thank the fine folks who maintain these trails and organized this stellar local event. Better yet, consider signing up to be a member and contributing to such an invaluable resource for our cycling community. See you there!

Beverly is back with a slightly changed route from last year. We’ll do a counter clockwise loop again and we’ll hit everything that makes Beverly Park the awesome place to ride that it is!

Chris’ Velo Orange Piolet — Monster Camper!

Chris reached out in search of a burly all-terrain camping bike that offered some classic aesthetic and plenty of modern function. With its segmented fork, disc brakes, huge tire clearance and ‘braze-ons for dayz-on’ the Velo Orange Piolet made the perfect platform to get him rolling.

Hand built wheels featuring Velocity Blunt SS 29″ rims and a Shutter Precision PD-8x Dynamo hub power his Supernova E3 Pro lights and The Plug III USB charger.
